DATE PALM TREE

The Date Palm tree is a large tree that is commonly found in the Sahara. It can grow up to 22 metres in height . Their leaves are used as shelter for the tree so the water is not evaporated from the plant. The leaves are also used to make furniture by the natives. The Date Palm tree also grows very quickly and the leaves become hard, which makes it difficult for the animals in the Sahara to eat them. The trees produces dates, which are eaten by the people residing in the desert. The dates are also used to create juices and syrups. The sap of the Phoenix Dactylifera is also able to be drunk.
